Miss Emily's Story...
My name is Miss Emily and they think I was born about May 2007. I was found on a country road with 4 gunshot wounds in my side and one in my right, hind foot. I was taken care of by the wonderful foster mom who found me and now I'm healthy enough to go up for adoption. We don't know why some mean person shot at me. Maybe they didn't want me anymore or maybe I was a stray and they wanted to run me off. Anyway, shame on them!! I still have metal in my foot but the Dr has elected to leave it there. It doesn't seem to bother me and I run and play fine. When I was first found I was naturally scared of everything but I am adjusting well now. I like to play and amuse myself to a large extent with toys and exploring the backyard. I am very sweet and if you get down on my level I'll lick you to death. You see I am veeeeery long and reeeally short. Without my legs I look like a hound/shepherd mix. With them, well I'm not much taller and probably have a lot of bassett in me. I would probably like older children to play with me. I do like other dogs and need another friendly dog at my new home. I walked straight into my new foster home tail a waggin'. In just 24 hours we were all playing chase around the back yard. (all except the old guy that is). I like to play and explore outside so I need a secure fenced yard but I'm an inside dog also. I weigh about 35lbs, although I don't look that heavy, and I am totally housetrained. If you are interested in me please email palsforpooches@aol.com. Thanks.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Miss Emily, a Humble Basset Hound/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Humble, or seeking a Basset Hound/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Humble.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Humble already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Humble breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Basset Hound/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Humble paves the way for another one to be saved.
