Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sammy is Adopted
Sammy is currently fostered in Shelby Ohio, and his adoption fee/donation is$300
Sammy is a beautiful 3 yr old male cocker spaniel.
He came to our rescue from a shelter in NY, where he was not doing well in the shelter environment.
Sammy was getting nippy with the shelter staff.
They said he was not good when they touched his paws or ears, that he snapped at them.
He was not available to the public for adoption, and was listed as rescue only.
These dogs often get euthanized if a rescue group is not found.
Cocker Spaniels rarely do well in a shelter environment.
They become fearful, anxious, and are known to become nippy when under this type of stress.
We pulled Sammy from the shelter about 1 week ago on January 26th, and he has not shown any issues with behavior in his foster home so far.
Here is a note from his foster person when asked how he is doing;
He is doing so good. No issues with the other dogs.
Even ignores the neighbor dog that is running back-and-forth along the fence barking.
He does not seem interested in playing with a ball or toys.
He does want to jump up on you to greet you but I am working on that and he is getting better.
I even let him sleep with me the other day on the bed and he did not make one noise or move a muscle.
He seemed completely content to be right by my side.
He has not had any accidents in the house so he seems completely housebroken.
He grumbles a little when he put them in the kennel for the night, but nothing out of the ordinary.
We will continue to evaluate him for a few more weeks, and can update on his progress as we learn more about him.
He is neutered, up to date on vaccines.
If you would like to adopt Sammy or would like more information on him, please fill out an adoption application
