Zach's Story...
Zach has come back to SFRA after 2 years. He is a wonderful little guy but is dog aggressive and protective of his home. His family was very active with young children and lived in an area where no fence was allowed. Because he is protective of his family and his home, he will need a quiet, adult home without lots of comings and goings. Zach will require a fenced yard as he cannot be walked. He confronted a "off leash" husky on a walk and almost lost his life. He is a typical terrier and will not back down. He needs the security of his own yard. Zach is housebroken and crate trained and will make a wonderful addition to a "schanuzer smart" home.

Zach is being fostered by Nancy in Cincinnati Click here to fill out an application for Zach.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zach, a Cincinnati Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Cincinnati, or seeking a Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Cincinnati.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cincinnati already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cincinnati breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cincinnati paves the way for another one to be saved.
