Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maizey is Adopted

Maizey is currently being fostered in Parma Ohio, and her adoption fee/donation is $250

Maizey Update 4-9-18
Maizey has made progress, although still fearful of being approached, she is learning human affection.
She has become quite fond of her foster mom, and enjoys being held and petted by her.
She is still not house-trained, but does go outside with the other dogs.
She is becoming more and more outgoing and is really showing her personality now.

Original Post
Maizey is a female Yorkie-Pooh from a puppy mill, she is 7 yrs old.
Maizey has never known anything but a mill, and living in a cage, existing only to make puppies.
She is very very scared and skiddish, and will need an experienced adopter, one that knows how to handle mill dogs.
Maizey is coming out of her shell in her foster home, she follows the lead of the other dogs.
She needs to be adopted to a home with at least one other dog.

Maizey is doing very well with house training, she is following what the other dogs do and catching on quickly.
She is very skiddish about being approached, and is afraid of being picked up but does not bite, just tries to squirm out of your hands.
She is not fond of people yet, but is getting there gradually.
She wants to be near a human, in the same room, nearby, but still is afraid to sit too close or be held.
That will come with time as do all mill dogs.

Maizey is starting to get more curious about toys and playing and she is making good progress, but again, she is a typical mill dog, and will need lots of patience and understanding.
She is also a flight risk, she will bolt and take off very possibly if spooked or scared when outside, so a fenced in yard will be required to adopt her.
We want to be sure she is safe, that is always a priority with these mill dogs, they can get loose and be on the run quickly.

We are seeing more and more progress with her everyday, she is on schedule with her socializing and getting to know humans.
It has only been about two weeks, she was rescued on Feb 9th, so we expect her to need a good 6 months to really blossom, and relax more around things that scare her.
If you have mill dog experience, a fenced yard, and are looking to provide a home for a sweet little soul like Maizey, then apply at Cherishedcockersrescue.org.

Maizey is already spayed, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm tested-negative.
