My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Valentines Day is just around the corner. Are you in need of some luvin', if so, foster mom says that I am your man. My name is Diesel and I am a little beagle lovebug.

My goal in life is to get a human family that will hold me and love me all the time. I will do my part as you rub me by starring into your eyes with my beautiful golden eyes. Foster mom says I have special eyes and not the usual dark brown that most beagles have. I know they are special eyes also because I can look into the heart of my human and see love for me. You see when I first came into my foster home, I admit, I was a little scared. But now that I realize everything here is good, I can relax and let my true beagleness show through.

At my foster home, I love to run and play with the other foster beagle boy here and the resident beagle boy as well. At the age of three years young, I am all about the playing. I am not a big barker although when we three boy beagles play in the yard I do bark and let my voice be heard. Both of the other beagle boys are bigger than me, but I will not let that stop me from trying to be top dog. Although sometimes foster mom says I get put in my place from the other two.

Since day one in my foster home, a kind of security for me is my toys, I love to walk around with a squeaky toy in my mouth. I love that sound. You knew, squeak, squeak, squeak! Foster mom knows what room I am in because of my squeaky toy. I love to keep toys in my doggie bed or crate with me. At my forever home, you should have some toys around for me so I know that is what I should play with; I am still young and sometimes need to be reminded.

An example is that I love running around with a forgotten sock left on the floor. Even better is when my foster people don't notice I have the sock in my mouth and I run out the back door into the yard. Wahooo! Let the games begin, I love it when foster mom chases me to get it back. I am fast she can't catch me.

I am crate trained and am left in it about 4-5 hours a couple of times a week when foster mom does errands. I don't know what an errand is, but I do know I get a peanut butter kong in my crate when she leaves and she always brings us treats when she comes home. So to me an errand is a good thing.

Foster mom tells me it is important to my forever people that I am housetrained and I should tell you that I am. I have never had an accident in the house.

Since I first came to my foster home, I decided at night time I did not want to sleep in my crate, so I squeaked my toy and whined so much that foster mom let me sleep on the couch without a problem other then me going in and out of my foster parents room to check on my them throughout the night. Now that I feel more confident, I sleep in a dog bed in my foster parents’ room through the night and cause no trouble at all.

So as a reminder... Valentines Day = beagle lovebug = Diesel
