UPDATE 02/23/09
Good news for Woobie! He has found a wonderful foster home in Portland, Maine where he is living peacefully with a female Golden Retreiver.
Woobie is so happy to leave kennel life behind! He is enjoying running around the fenced in yard and playing with his toys. He apears to be well mannered in the home, although he is very interested in the kitchen counter - we have no proof yet that he is a counter surfer, be we suspect:)
He really loves the snow and spent much of his time yesterday rolling in it in the yard.
Woobie is very affectionate and full of kisses. He enjoyed sleeping in the bed last night with his foster mom and foster sister.
He needs a little training on leash walking. He is not a big puller, but he does not seem to know how to walk in a straight line - he likes to explore on either side of you and drop and roll when a particularly nice pile of snow is available. His foster mom will be taking him for daily walks to help him learn the proper way to walk!
Woobie would be a great companion for an outdoorsy person.
Woobie does require a home with a physically fenced in yard.
This is a very nice dog, please consider opening your heart and home to Woobie.
Woobie (Malamute mix) has had a very tough few months. He was a beloved pet until recently when his mom died suddenly of a stroke, leaving Woobie and his "sister" Maggie Mae homeless. As you can imagine, Woobie is heartbroken and confused. Now living in a boarding kennel - he is wondering what happened to his comfy bed, backyard and caretaker.

Fortunately, Woobie and Maggie Mae have a guardian angel who asked for our help in finding these two a very special, loving home.
Woobie is a 6.5 year old male Malamute mix who thinks he is 6 months old. He is energetic, playful and full of love. Woobie would enjoy someone who would take him hiking and running - remember, he thinks he is a puppy... This boy loves to run, play with toys and roll in the snow.
At his previous home, Woobie was either walked on leash or played in a fenced in yard. Being a Malamute mix, Woobie should not be allowed of leash in an unfenced area.
In his previous life Woobie shared his home peacefully with three cats. He is used to having someone home with him most of the time, as his former mom was retired. Woobie is also good with children and gets along with other dogs.
Woobie is up-to-date on vaccines, altered and house trained.
