Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sparkle is a sweet, loving Golden-mix female found by a Good Samaritan. She was eating out of the trash can when she was found. She has recently had puppies, but we were not able to find them. She is extremely thin and needs to gain about 10-12 lbs.. Sparkle has lost most of her hair due to a yeast/bacteria infection on her skin. Her left eye was completely swollen shut from an infection, but she is responding nicely to the meds. She gets long well with other dogs and didn't appear too interested in the cat at the vet.
Sparkle is approximately 18 months old and weighs in at 42 lbs. She is current on vaccinations and heavy heartworm positive. She will need to gain weight and recover from the puppies before she is ready for heartworm treatment and a spay.
Foster Update 3/23/09:
Sparkle is doing so much better. Her skin is improving and she now has hair on most of her body. Despite her abuse in the past, Sparkle is very sweet and loving. She requires a gentle hand and a soft voice. She has not had any accidents in the house in over one week and is completely crate trained. She walks well on a leash and gets along with other dogs. Sparkle will be spayed next week and then start heartworm treatment in 2-3 weeks. Sparkle is trying very hard to live up to her name and will make a great family pet.
