Tobias's Story...
My name is Tobias. Such a formal name for such a playful kitty. Maybe when you adopt me, you’ll decide to call me Toby. Or maybe you’ll call me something else – it doesn’t matter what you call me, I’m sure to always come. Now, you may be thinking “sure, you’ll come for food,” but, no, food is not the primary driver of my behavior. No, it’s love. You see, I once had a home and a family, but when the family home was foreclosed on, my feline family members and I were left behind. At first I was a bit cautious and nervous around new people – would this person abandon me, too? But now that I know I’m safe with a no-kill rescue group, I know that I’m safe and I feel so very loved. But it sure would be wonderful to have a family of my own again. I like the temporary home I have here at FOHA, but I need to move on to a “real” home – there are other kitties in need waiting for my spot! I love to snuggle and play – I’m a youngster, probably just around 1-2 years of age, so I have lots of playful energy. I love receiving pets and giving head-butts. I’m often found hanging around and curled up with one of my feline buddies, so living in a home with another cat would be just great with me – we would always have each other for company. So please come out to FOHA to meet me. Then you can call me yours!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tobias, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
