9/2/10 - Hi Old Friends! I know, it’s been a long time since I checked in. Hey! I've been busy! My roommate, Sunny, and I have been developing new talents.
He has almost figured out how to catch a squirrel on the run in the backyard! He keeps practicing day after day after day. I have refined MY talent and am now ready for “American Dogs Have Talent” – Bug! Just say the word and I'm there. When my human gets a fly swatter, that’s my cue. I go CRAZY! That means there is a bug or fly somewhere nearby. I even clean up after “the deed” (just like a vacuum cleaner LOL) and I have been seen on occasion to catch those bugs in the air!
Anyway, I spend most of my days inside, snoozing and playing with my toys. I love to play tug-of-war with anyone and everyone. I still don't like to play outside much, but I sure do enjoy a good car ride. I’m a great passenger too. I sit very quietly and just “enjoy the ride”.
And don't tell anyone, but I have to wear a “diaper” when no one is home, but I will run outside to take care of business when I really do have to go. I do like to sleep with my human so hopefully you can find room for me in your bed too. I love to snuggle!
Well, I see a bug so gotta run! I'll write more later….
6/30/09 - Well, the 4th of July is this weekend and I just wanted to remind everyone to support our Local Troops! My foster home has a military person in it and I am so thankful for him. He actually takes care of me and I get to sleep in his bed. (thanks Randy)
I really need a permanent home. I like long days so I can sleep more and I like to play with my toys! I may be 8 years old, but if you start playing with me, you'd never know it! I can act like a pup when I want to. Here's a picture with me and my 4-legged friend Jesse playing tug-of-war!
I really enjoy snuggling against someone. That's my favorite thing. I'm never too far from my "person". I have my own bed, but I prefer to sleep with humans. They are warm you know!
So if you could open your heart and your home so I could live with you, I promise you won't regret it. And remember - people are born so they can learn how to live a good life, like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Dogs already know how to do that so we aren't on this earth as long as humans. 1 human year = 7 dog years!
Please take me home with you! You won't regret it. Jesse
4/18/09 - My foster parents are going on a much needed vacation in May and they really don't want to put me in a kennel. If someone could adopt me before then, I promise I'll be your bestest friend! Dogs are man's best friends you know. I'm loyal, loving and just need a permanent home. I want to spend time with my owner, and the more time the merrier!
Please fill out an adoption paper so we can get this moving forward! Otherwise I have to spend a week in a kennel and I will miss my foster parents a whole lot!
3/27/09 - Jesse here. Boy do my teeth feel great now! I can play tug of war with my bestest friend Sunny (another 4 legged fellow in my foster home) and my breath smells GREAT! (except when I eat some of that smelly canned food that I love LOL) Anyway, the vet gave me a clean bill of health and I feel so much younger! And I look pretty good too for an 8 year old male (are you listening ladies?)
I figured out that I like to play with toys! Yes! My favorite is a rope toy or even a little cloth football (who doesn't love football?). Life is so much fun now!
My foster home takes really good care of me. I wasn't used to going outside and using the bathroom, but now, when they pick me up and put me in the grass, WOW what a relief it is...I still have an occasional accident, but my foster parents take care of me. If you just take me out in the yard to "do my business" I can do very well.
I love sitting in your lap or somewhere close to you. That is my favorite thing in the whole world! Please take me to a forever home so I can be your friend!
3/15/09 - Hi all – I’m sleepy. No, I'm not one of the seven dwarfs. I'm just a sleepy little man. My name is Jesse. I’m looking for a forever home that is nice and quiet. I’m 8 years old and like to lay around, and it doesn't matter where. A lap, bed, couch . . . well, you get the idea.
After entering my foster home, I went and saw the dentist. After he took out all the teeth that needed to go, I was left with only 7 teeth. He suggested I stick to soft food, but I can still chew a little hard food. I’m lovable and have adapted quickly to my foster family. I have a new 3-year old 4-legged foster brother that I love to play with. Boy, he tires me out though, which is ok, because then I take a nap. Did I mention I like to sleep? When I'm napping, if you listen closely, you can hear my little “snores”….
I let me foster parents know I need to “go”, by running kind of fast from door to door so you can let me out! I think I’d do real good in a forever home with someone that is home a lot. I like to be near someone all the time. If you think you would be interested in a quiet, loving little doggie, then I’m your man, er, dog!
