My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Betty has felt a bit sad since leaving the Athens County Dog Shelter, and who can blame her. Her owner had to leave her there because he could not take care of all the pets he had. She has been missing her family, but has come to terms with her loss and ready to move on to an exciting future.

We will also be including “Bark-outs”, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and general doggy info that we hope will be informative and fun.

Strikingly lovely, this mature, medium sized 5 year old has a heart of gold. She is good with cats, other dogs, older folks and small children. A bit of an attention seeker, Betty loves to be fawned over and be a part of all family activities. She is graceful, sensitive and above all friendly. Betty is eager to come when called, and is excellent on a leash. She is housebroke and crate-trained.

Betty is currently being treated for a bout of kennel cough. In a couple weeks she will be cured of this minor malady that affects many dogs having to live in sheltered conditions. Soon she will be ready to meet you! Please call Brenda, her foster Mom, at 740-707-4129 to arrange to get to know Betty. She loves walks, car rides, and peanut butter doggy cookies!
