My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sasha and Sarge - These two German Shepherds are brother and sister, born in June 2007. They were left at the breeding kennel when they were 3 months old. Since that time, Sasha and Sarge have been living outside in a pen.

They are both sweet natured and full of kisses for their current caretakers, but are extrememly shy with strangers and will need experienced foster homes that will introduce them to the outside world slowly. They are shy around strangers and fearful of the world outside of their pens, as they have never received the socialization that all youngdogs need. With a little time and confidence building - this brother and sister should blossom into wonderful, loyal companions.

Sarge and Sasha appear to get along with other dogs. We have no information regarding cats and do not recommend that their foster homes have small children. They are shy in nature and need a low-key environment for the time being.

An ideal foster home for Sarge would be:
-- One with a fenced in yard (required)
-- One with an experienced Shepherd owner
-- One with a quiet environment and no small children.
If you have the love in your heart and room in your home to help Sarge, please contact: ddbmaine@yahoo.com

Sasha and Sarge are both in need of vetting - which will be done once in foster care.

Right now Sarge is not available for adoption as he has not been vetted (vaccinated, neutered, etc). We are urgent need of donations for these pups. Please help. We have committed to many from this facility in an effort to get them in from the cold. Most of these dogs have never seen a vet and will need between $300 - $400 each to get them ready for adoption, which is considerabley more than our adoption fee.

Please consider being Sarge's angel.
