Monty's Story...
Monty says, "Hello! My name is Monty. I am a sweet, tri-colored basset that is around 4-5 years old. BHRG found me and nursed me back to health after being hit by a car. You would never guess I once had a broken pelvis because I still have lots of energy and love to run and play. My foster parents have taught me some great manners. I am crate-trained and have only had a few accidents in the house. I am learning how to walk on a leash and I'm smart enough to know that I will get extra treats when I behave and don't pull on the leash. I am a sweet, good-natured boy that loves everyone I meet. Sometimes, my foster parents take me to the dog park and I love to play with all the other dogs! Everyone at the dog park loves my floppy ears and large paws! I even like to show off my large paws by sleeping on my back with all paws in the air. Even though my hips don't hurt like they use to, I would do best in a home with limited stairs. I am looking for a family that will cuddle with me on the couch, take me on walks and give me lots of love . Will you be my forever home? I promise to love you unconditionally!"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Monty, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
