Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The dictionary defines Laplander as one who lives in Lappland near the Artic Circle. A better definition would be our champion “Lap-lander” Romeo (aka Sammy), the cuddly basset. Just four weeks out of a bad situation and recovered from several medical problems, Romeo has turned into a real lap–loving sweetheart. When he was first brought into foster, he was so traumatized that he would not come into the house where people were. He had to be cornered, carefully picked-up, and carried into the house. He has come out of his shell in a big way deciding he likes to snuggle and to be in laps where he knows he is safe. He is slightly smaller than the traditional basset but he has a couple of warm, brown eyes that will melt your heart. He still doesn’t have his basset voice yet but can talk when he has something to say. He likes to play with his brothers and sister and race through the house. He still reacts to sudden noises and prefers that people get a little closer to the ground to play with him. He is improving every day and, once he is comfortable with you, you and your lap will never be the same!! Check him out!!
