Sassy's Story...
Please contact Louci ( for more information about this pet.

Sassy is a 23yr old senior mare who is unridable. She is easy to keep as long as she is fed a consistent diet of pelleted feed and hay. She loads, ties, bathes, likes to be brushed, stands well, takes her meds easily. She needs a little understanding when being led. She tends to walk fast. She needs a quiet, loving retirement home for her remaining few years.
**Please note: The pictures are from the week we rescued her and she has gained about 100 lbs since then but I haven't had the chance to take new pictures. The condition she came to us in was simply cruel. She was not being fed any pellets or hay only pasture for a few hours a day and the rest of her time was spent in a stall.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassy, a Tampa Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
