Henry's Story...
I'm HENRY! If you're looking for a lovable feline- look no further! I am patiently waiting to find a home to call my very own. I get along well with other cats, with dogs and with all people who are nice to me. I am neutered, up to date on shots, tested negative for both FIV and Feline Leukemia and I have been treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms. I am housetrained/litterbox trained and I am an indoor only cat. I have beautiful blue eyes and a soft orange tint to my fur.

My life was pretty tough before I was rescued. I was a stray trying to survive on the streets- always searching for a warm place to sleep and hoping to find a meal to get me by. I was lonley, scared and very hungry! But thanks to the good people at A4A who resued me, I am healthy and happy and just waiting to find a home to call my own.

I am around 4 years old. I am loving, affectionate and I am dreaming of a home to call my very own, fur-ever! If you are interested in adopting me, please contact Advocates 4 Animals today and tell them you would like to adopt HENRY! I can't wait to meet you! I WILL BE READY FOR ADOPTION AS OF 4/10/09- SO PLEASE CONTACT ADVOCATES 4 ANIMALS RIGHT AWAY!

***Please note, cats are extremely routine oriented pets. It may take 2-6 weeks to fully adjust to a new home environment. Please remember to be patient when bringing a new feline into your home. ***

1. A phone or e-mail interview will be conducted
2. If approved, an Advocates 4 Animals member will contact you and schedule a 'meet & greet' with the adoptable pet
The 'meet & greet' will be held in your home.
3. At that time of the home visit, we will assess if the pet(s) is a good match for both the family/individual adopting the pet and the home environment.

Please note:
-All individuals living in the home must agree to adopt the pet into their home. All members of the home should be present during the 'meet & greet'-- including additional pets who live in the home.
If Advocates 4 Animals determines that the pet is not a good fit for the potential adopter, this will be discussed at the time of the home visit.
Every pet is different. Some pets have highly specialized needs (ie: type of environment, other pets, etc.) while others adjust easily to various environments. Felines typically take 2-6 weeks to begin adjusting to their new home. All pets have been housed in foster homes while they wait to find a home to call their very own. All adoptable rescue pets are up to date on shots, treated for the prevention of ear mites, fleas and worms and have been spayed/neutered.
-Advocates 4 Animals requires an adoption donation fee of $75.00. The adoption donation assists us in rescuing and rehabilitating additional homeless pets. Our organization is run solely on donations and with volunteers. Without your support we could not continue our efforts!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henry, a Xenia Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Xenia, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Xenia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Xenia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Xenia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Xenia paves the way for another one to be saved.
