Sweets's Story...
Sweets is a Doxie-Terrier, or Doxie/Chihuahua mix female under one year, who was rescued from one of our volunteers' neighbors who did not want her anymore. The previous owner told Rosalie that Sweets did nothing wrong, she just didn’t want a dog in her apartment, same old story every time in Compton! Rosalie is keeping the dog in her home, and will bring her to Petco every Saturday to show her. She is good with dogs, cats, small children; friendly with everyone she meets. She has been vaccinated and spayed. Her body is long like a Doxie, and she is low to the ground, but we are guessing that she also has some type of terrier in her too. She has longish hair like a long haired Doxie. Contact Sandy at 818-407-4145 fill out our application online at www.downtowndogrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweets, a Los Angeles Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
