Holly's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Holly's Story...
Holly (04-010) is 2 years old. She was turned over to BHRG by the shelter in Lavonia. Holly is now up-to-date on her shots and has been spayed. She's gaining weight pretty quickly, and really starting to look good. She loves to play, wrestle, and generally be a puppy. Holly gets along fine with the two hounds in her foster home although she is a bit possessive over food... however, she is getting much better about sharing. Holly wants nothing more than to sit in your lap and give hugs and kisses. She loves her rawhides and toys, so when the others don't want to play, she's fine by herself. She does like to chew, so chewie toys and treats are a must. So far, she's shown very little interest in the cats in her foster home, so we think she would be okay in a house with cats and other dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holly, a Marietta Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
