Pete's Story...
Hi, my name is Pete. I am 7 years old. My weight right now is about 40 lb and I am about 16 in tall. I am on a diet right now and hopefully someday will only weigh about 25 lb. I love to have other dogs to be with and play with. I love the companionship of humans too. My foster home says I have been easy to live with but I am needing a home of my very own. If you think you would like to help me with my diet and would like my companionship please let the volunteers of Indiana Sheltie Rescue know!
. **********UPDATE************
As of April 10 2009 Pete has taken off about 4 lb and is down to 36 lb . We think Pete ideal healthy weight might be about 30 lbs .

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pete, a Indiana Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Indiana, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Indiana.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indiana already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indiana breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indiana paves the way for another one to be saved.
