My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred just had his 6th birthday on March 23rd. He is already neutered and microchiped and is current on all his vaccines until mid-July. And now he has minty-fresh breath, he just had his teeth cleaned!! He is a wonderful companion. He loves kids and all other pets (yes, even cats!) He just wants to be and stay near you. He is happy to lie around and veg, plus he is already house-broken. No work involved.

Fred came to Beagle Buddies after he was left by his owners at a local vet office when they requested that he be put to sleep because of a treatable rear leg ligament issue. The vets refused and worked to get him into rescue. One of the wonderful staff members at the vets is fostering him till a forever home is found. He is a great dog.

Like a lot of us he has a few extra pounds....which has contributed to his injury. He is off to a great start on losing a bit of weight. He has a rear right leg cruciate tear. He is on pain medications to manage his discomfort and we are currently working on getting him a brace so he does not further injure himself. Surgery may not even be needed. He is not slowed down by his injury at all, he sometimes has to get around on 3 legs, but he has it down-pat. He is a super sweet-mellow boy looking for his forever home.
