My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

S/F, 2 months, Keeshond mix

Hello - my name is Candy! I am a thoughtful, sensitive little pup and
just love people. I am very eager to learn new things and I learn very
quickly. I spent a couple of days at the home of a volunteer when I
first came to MaxFund and she said I am a very well-behaved young
lady! I am naturally a little shy and I may feel particularly afraid
(abandoned) when alone. It would be best if my family works with me on
this while I am young so I don’t have separation anxiety issues when I
grow up. Since I am a wonderfully fluffy dog I will need to be groomed
periodically to make sure that my coat doesn't become matted.

I am told that I am just the cutest, cuddliest, little puppy and
everyone says they want to take me home. However, when considering
whether to adopt me, it is very important to remember puppyhood
carries its own responsibilities for the humans in the family. To
properly care for me and make me a well-balanced and well-mannered
adult dog you will need time and patience. You will need to be around
most of the time so I don’t get lonely or bored. You will have to
watch me carefully, so I don’t chew up electrical cords, your shoes,
or the sofa cushions. Since I am definitely in a puppy chewing stage I
expect I will find your shoes as attractive as my toys. You will need
to make sure I’m not left in a yard unattended and you will need to
take me on walks and give me supervised, stimulating play. Even though
I am small I still need lots of exercise. Also, please remember that I
may develop into a big dog! You will need to be diligent and
understanding during my “potty training.” I will also need to be taken
through Puppy Kindergarten classes. These will help me to continue to
perfecting my dog and human interaction skills. Most importantly, I
need you to love me – for ever and ever. I know I will do the same for
you!

How I turn out as an adult dog directly depends on how I am treated
when I am young. Although I may have a bit of a mixed heritage, I do
have a lot of Keeshond traits and gentle and patient training is
considered best for this breed. I can assure you that I respond well
to praise! I would like to be the best behaved grown-up dog I can be
so I would love my human family to help me get there!

If that could be you, please come to MaxFund to meet me. Ask at the
front desk and they can introduce us – I love making new friends!
