Name: Nikki
Breed: Rat Terrier
Approximate Age:  10
Approximate Weight: 10 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster Home

Nikki is a mature rat terrier girl that was turned in to a rural North Carolina shelter with her two siblings. Nikki loves people, loves attention and loves going for walks. She is up for just about anything. She is a spry girl for 10 years. She doesn't mind being in a crate. She is also very quiet and uses the doggie door for her business.

Nikki would prefer to be an only dog. She gets along with other dogs for the most part but can sometimes be snappy with other dogs. She thinks she is the queen and the queen she should be of someone's life.

Give this older girl a home -- she will prove to be your very best girlfriend.

The adoption fee for Nikki is $280, Which includes the cost of transporting and routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery. Please download and complete an Adoption Application, then email the completed form to Patti at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nikki, a Indian Head Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Indian Head, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Indian Head.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indian Head already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indian Head breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indian Head paves the way for another one to be saved.
