Heidi's Story...
Heidi was found running among the big semi-trucks on the docks in Long Beach. She had been there for a long time and some of the guys down there would feed her, but it is no place for a dog to call home. Then one day she got hit by one of the trucks and a kind man was able to catch her and take her home. Nothing was wrong with her and is doing just fine. Heidi is a very athletic and slender dog. A high fence is definitely a requirement with her. Heidi is about a year and a half old and weighs about 50 pounds. She gets along with other dogs big and small. She is very very smart and will make a great family dog as she is very gentle too. Someone is in for a treat with Heidi! If you are interested, please email palrescue@mac.com and put the dog's name in the subject line.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a El Segundo Australian Shepherd/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Husky for sale in El Segundo, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Husky dog from a breeder in El Segundo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Segundo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Segundo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Husky breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Segundo paves the way for another one to be saved.
