Penelope's Story...
Penelope is a gorgeous 14.3 hand sorrel filly w/ no white markings. She has been adopted out, but due to economic factors, must be placed with a new home. Will be very tall & is all legs. She has great muscle & bone structure. She is very quiet & sensible for her age & breeding. She stands great for grooming, farrier, bathing, etc. Gets along well w/ everyone and is a pleasure to work with. She has been in a home with small children and has excellent ground manners. Will make a great mount that will be easily trained (excellent hunter/jumper, eventing or dressage horse when grown). Penelope is willing, as well as sweet, smart and attentive.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penelope, a Old Fort Thoroughbred was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Thoroughbred for sale in Old Fort, or seeking a Thoroughbred from a breeder in Old Fort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Old Fort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Old Fort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Thoroughbred breeders who help with Thoroughbred rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Old Fort paves the way for another one to be saved.
