Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mario is about 2 yrs old, he is a bullmastiff mix and is about 75 lbs. He adores children but feels it is his job to keep them in line. He has nipped and growled at mine when he felt they weren’t behaving. He would feel much more comfortable in a home with only adults or with very predictable teenagers.
He is a big scaredy-cat. Mario came to us very nervous and antisocial but is now much more outgoing. He loves the dog park! He is very friendly with all strangers and is not watch-dog material, he will let anyone in our home with a curious smile and wag. He is a submissive dog by nature and has no problem taking direction from adults. He is crate trained, and leash trained but still has a very strong prey drive. He should not be in a home with cats or other small animals. He is housebroken but will have accidents if left indoors for a whole day (6+ hours.) He does not have accidents if people are home and is really good at asking to go out when he needs to. I think he would prefer being the only dog but may do well one other. He is an apartment dog now and is pretty lazy in general. He would love a big yard and a doggie door, but is perfectly happy with no yard if he gets a good long walk every day and frequent short walks as requested. He loves going for rides in the car, chasing a ball or Frisbee (though he doesn’t always bring them back,) and singing along with the harmonica. He is a fun dog and he knows just exactly how cute he is.
He is very healthy, neutered and micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. If you would like to meet Mario, please contact Heather at keelh@ohsu.edu.
