Troy's Story...
They have named me Troy and I like the sound of that. I am a purebred Border Collie and I'll be two years old this year. I was born in Ky. and lived there my first year. Then something happened and I was sent to the pound. Their was a lady at the pound that liked me and was worried about me. She kept saying that I was too nice to be euthanized. I have no idea of what that word means but from the feeling I got from her each time she said it with sadness in her eyes I'm glad that didn't happen to me. One day a nice lady and her husband came to take a little barky dog and the pound lady talked to them and brought them right to my cage door. The lady looked at me and took a small thing out of her pocket and held it to her ear. Shortly after that my cage door was opened and I was led out of doors and put into the back seat of a truck. I took a very long ride and I was so tired that I went to sleep several times as trees and buildings and other cars passed by. It was dark when I woke and they pulled the truck off the road and stopped. Within a short time another truck pulled up and two happy ladies got out and right away started to make a fuss over me. Boy that felt good. They told me not to worry that I was safe and going to were Border Collies like me love to be. I was put into a crate and I was real quiet and good all the rest of the way. When the journey came to an end my ears were filled with happy hellos from so many different voices. I was walked around and saw more dogs that looked just like me then I had ever seen. I didn't know there were so many of us! I'm settling in now and this is a great place to be. Just today a nice couple brought in 3 goats for many of us to try our natural skills on. Boy was that fun!!! I moved them around and kept them in one place. And I barked and barked at those goats which made the lady ask me to please be quite. Which wasn't easy because I was so excited. They tell me that soon families will be visiting and that I will meet them and pick one out for my very own. Well if I can find a family half as good as the one here at Indian Summers then I will be happy for the rest of my life and consider myself to be one lucky BC.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Troy, a Minerva Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Minerva, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Minerva.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minerva already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minerva breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minerva paves the way for another one to be saved.
