Rio's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Rio's Story...
Rio is about 6 years old. She is a black and tan Blue Heeler mix. She is a very sweet dog and weighs about 65 pounds. She needs to go to a home without young children. She is not aggressive with them. She just gets very nervous. She does well with older children and most dogs. She likes belly rubs and makes cute little pig snorts when her neck is rubbed. She is housetrained and knows Sit, shake (up high, down low), lay, stay, and fetch. If you would like to apply to adopt this pet please visit www.powellPAWS.org to review our adoption requirements and submit an application. Submitting an application does not guarantee or hold a dog, or commit you to the adoption process. All PAWS dogs are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rio, a Powell Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Powell, or seeking a Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
