Alvin's Story...
Hi, my name's Alvin. As you can tell from my photos, I'm a little bit camera shy. My mom is sad about this, but she is looking for a home for my sister Abby, my brother Stewart, and me. She always talks about playful and affectionate I am, and I am very lovey with other cats. Playing with string can provide me with hours of entertainment--I just love that activity! My siblings and I would all love to go to a home together, but understand if you only can adopt one or two of us. Please, if you are interested in adopting me, contact Pound Pals at or submit an application online at Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, we're all used to children and dogs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alvin, a Radford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Radford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Radford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Radford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Radford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Radford paves the way for another one to be saved.
