Mikey's Story...
This boy is 100% puppy! With lots of energy and little understanding of boundaries, Mikey is the consummate puppy who will need an experienced dog handler to help him grow into a well-behaved, mature adult. Mikey thinks just about everything you do is a game, from leashing him up to walking with him close by your side, in order to better control him. He seems very smart (he has great eye contact!), so he definitely has potential to become a good canine citizen. Mikey's so darned cute that he was likely able to get away with just about anything in his life before the shelter. We are hoping that Mikey's next home will be more structured and nurturing so that he can grow into a big, lovable pooch with good doggie-manners.

Act quickly to adopt Mikey. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mikey, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
