Captain's Story...
Having sailed the stormy seas of life, I’d like to tie up permanently at your house!

Did my parents first meet at a Captain and Tennille concert? No such luck. I got my name from a nice Friends for Life lady who thought I looked a lot like a dog she’d seen in Pirates of the Caribbean. (But even though I answer to “Captain,” the only thing I’d like to be in charge of is my dinner dish!)

Let’s just say that this year and a half-old male K9 mix has seen his share of yards. After all, the guy who let me tag along with him for over a year was a yard guy. But one day, after mowing a nice lady’s lawn, he convinced her that she’d be better off with me instead. So I stayed. And even though I’d never lived indoors, I loved it at first sight.

Yes, I’m an angel in the house. I don’t chew on anything. No potty accidents. Nothing. But boy do I love cheese and peanut butter! And sea biscuits, of course. I’m calm, collected, and a bit silly at times. “Endearing” is how I’d describe this personality trait.

Looking for a dog who’s already been around the block—and would like to plop down on your living room rug? Look no further!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Captain, a Houston Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
