Farley's Story...
Come one, come all to meet the fabulous Farley. What’s so fabulous about Farley? Well, just meet me and you’ll see! I’m a great dog, a black German Shepherd mix, so handsome and well-mannered. I was rescued from a county shelter just in the nick of time before being put to sleep! And I don’t mean a leisurely nap, folks! I was going to be put down because of a medical issue. What was my overwhelming malady? A urinary tract infection. A little plumbing problem gets one a death sentence? Frankly, spending all day in a kennel when you’re used to having leash walks to do your business can cause that kind of potty problem. Thank goodness for my rescuer and my friends at FOHA. No more plumbing issues and I’m now getting plenty of good and healthy food to add some needed pounds to my bones. I love playing with other dogs and enjoy trips to the dog park to run and frolic with friends. I’m a smart guy – I’m a German Shepherd, so what do you expect, right? I know how to sit and stay when asked. I’m an excellent companion in the car and just an all-around great boy. APPLICATION PENDING!!! (Please note: I can only be adopted to a home in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Farley, a Aldie German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Aldie, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
