Helios's Story...
"Helios" was born on 5/5/09. He is affectionate, playful and outgoing. He is also perfectly house-trained. He is currently being fostered by a veterinarian and has had exposure to other cats (adults and his littermates who have already been adopted) and dogs and would do well in a household with other animals. "Helios" is already neutered, microchipped, dewormed, tested for feline leukemia and has received 2 of his FVRCP kitten vaccines. Our adoption fee is $75 per kitten or $100 for a pair (for a limited time). You may contact his foster mom, Beth, directly at bakissack@ucdavis.edu for more information or to receive a short adoption questionnaire. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Helios, a Davis Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Davis, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
