Martini's Story...
Martini is a 15 pound, spayed, white with gray and brown Jack Russell Terrier. She was born in October of 2008. She was brought to the shelter by a member of the public. She was covered with green paint from neck to tail. Perhaps some children were giving her a Mohawk hair design. Her leg was fractured and we had surgery done on July 2. She will be recovered in mid to late August. She is very sweet and quite docile for a Jack Russell. She is not a barker other than at passers by. She seems to get along with dogs except with aggressive terriers. The shelter staff had her interact with a pit bull and then a German Shepherd and she did just fine. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. Generally we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Martini, a Spring Valley Jack Russell Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
