Please help us find a good home for our dog. He's been a wonderful dog, but we are
discovering that a busy work schedule combined with after school sports and
scouting does not leave Cody enough attention.

Name: Cody Age: 3 years old (birthday in April) Breed: Border Collie/ mix

Likes: Loves to run!!! Loves to chase bubbles! Loves to be loved. We call him a
"lover." Likes to rest his head on our feet at the end of the day.

Dislikes: We've been unable to give him enough exercise/attention over the past year.
He's been a loving and loyal dog to our whole family these last three years and has
never shown an ounce of aggression to any of us. We can even take food away as
he's eating it! He growls/barks at passersby and has snapped on two occasions
when tethered on a short tether and surprised by their sudden presence. That's all.
This is why we're trying to place him NOW. We love him and cannot bear to take him
to a place where he'll be put down.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CODY, a Phelan Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Phelan, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Phelan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phelan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phelan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phelan paves the way for another one to be saved.
