I am housetrained.

Awol's Story...
Although I am an older dog, I have the spirit of a much younger one! I love taking walks in the park, and am especially fond of watching the ducks as they glide across the water (how I wish I could join them!). I have excellent leash manners and just adore it when someone takes the time to give me some t-l-c, which I really miss since having been surrendered by my former family who could no longer keep me because of housing issues. I have a fluffy (and rather handsome, I might add) coat that is a bit hot in summer (wish I could get into that water!), but as long as I am brushed regularly and loved, I would consider life pretty good. I am also housetrained and know my manners. Won't you consider giving me a second chance at life?

Act quickly to adopt Awol. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Awol, a Berkeley Border Collie/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Pointer for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Border Collie/Pointer dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Pointer breeders who help with Border Collie/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
