Ox's Story...
Meet Ox! This 11 month (D.O.B. 12/30/03) old Mantle is as cute as they come. Ox's owners did not feel the need to feed him enough, and when he killed a chicken, they wanted him gone ASAP! Well, this boy was truly a skinny pup, but after some good and frequent meals, Ox is looking for his new forever home. He has a whole lot of growing yet to do, and at present weighs in at around 100 pounds. Ox is completely housebroken and crate trained, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and neutered. This boy is so very well behaved in the house. He is quiet and content to have a soft place to lay his head. Ox plays wonderfully with other dogs, and has pretty much ignored the cats. He is fine with kids, but we recommend kids over 14 as Ox is still a playful BIG pup. In fact, Ox loves every person her meets. He is a little fearful of extra loud noises, and is submissive to loud people. Overall, he has learned that love and tummy rubs and the most wonderful things in the world. Ox is VERY grateful to be living indoors and is more then willing to show you his appreciation. Ox has what is called a sleeping ear! His left ear has a mind of its own. Sometimes it rest normally, sometimes it rests on his head, and yet other times, it goes straight forward! He is a goofy Great Dane, and one that will love you with his whole heart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ox, a Steger Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Steger, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Steger.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Steger already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Steger breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Steger paves the way for another one to be saved.
