Baxter's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and good with cats.

Baxter's Story...
Baxter is a purebred maltese who needs a new home due to a death in the family. He is seven years young and weighs 12 pounds. Baxter is a very loving dog although he is not a lap dog. He will also answer to the name of “Buddy” at times. He’s a great listener and if you are not feeling well, he lays beside you until you feel well again. He’s very smart and resourceful and even uses his paw to open his kennel door or other door if not shut tight. If gets out he runs like the wind and you have to lure him back with a treat. Baxter will sit and shake for a treat. He loves to go camping and traveling in the car but wants to be by the front seat passenger either on their lap, chair or at their feet. He is scared of loud noises as most small dogs are. He will shy or back away from anyone who tries to pet him from the front over his head. He also has a knack of getting into sweets so they need to be put up where he can't get them. Baxter is truly afraid of other dogs but he loves cats. He would prefer living with older children although an adult home would be preferred. Baxter is house trained on a schedule like most small dogs. He is also kennel trained but of course would rather sleep with you! His $250 adoption fee covers his neuter, full dental, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, professional grooming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baxter, a Osseo Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Osseo, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Osseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Osseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Osseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Osseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
