My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This black tri boy is painfully thin at the moment and is heartworm positive so he'll be treated before he can go to his forever home in late September.

He's only 1 year old so the good news is that the heartworms are not well established and he should sail through treatment.

Rain was picked up stray but the owner declined to pay the fee to reclaim him, so he has come into rescue and is a little unsure of things, but his foster Dad is working hard to boost his confidence and show him how good life is going to be when he finishes treatment and puts on some weight.

UPDATE 8/3/09: Rayne is a very sweet boy. Even more clingy than the norm for Aussies. I am never out of his sight and he wants to sleep on my feet. He is quiet, playful, loves the other dogs but, won't stop chasing my cat. I don't think he means harm, it is just irresistible to chase anything that runs. He is fine with kids. He has gone from skeletal to just really thin since he arrived. He now has a good appetite and no worms. When he arrived his teeth were somewhat loose and I had to soak his kibble in water to soften it, now he finishes dinner first without the water. He is getting 1-1/2 times the maint. ration of Nutro Chicken, Rice and Oatmeal as the others along with doubling up a cookie time everyday.

Rain is fostered in Thonotosassa, FL.
