Petite 1 1/2 year old Annie was surrendered to the shelter by her previous family as they were moving to a place where pets were not allowed. She was in danger of being euthanized due to lack of space. But she was rescued by her foster mom in the nick of time, after receiving an alert from desperate shelter staff pelading for someone to save this scared, shy girl
We think Annie is may be a mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel possibly mixed with Sheltie. She is medium sized, weighing in at 35 lbs. She has the most beautiful black and tan coat, and she enjoys being brushed. Whatever her mix is, she is sure to steal your heart!
Annie was very scared and overwhelmed when she first came to her foster home, but who could blame this poor girl after losing her home, and then being taken to the scary shelter. In only a couple of days, after patience and love from her foster family, this playful girl has already started to come out of her shell. She likes to follow her foster family everywhere, and loves to run around chasing her plush ball around the house. She enjoys getting head and tummy scratches, and will sometimes even reward you with little kisses!
Although she gets along fine with the dogs in her foster home, she seems to be intimidated by other dogs, especially when she meets them while on a leash. She seems a little more comfortable meeting them off leash, and once she is able to take some time to get know them, she comes around. She would do fine with another mellow dog who will take their time getting to know her, or even as your "one and only" dog . She is shy and cautious when meeting new people, but seems to like people of all sizes, who take the time for her to get to know them. We think she would do well in a home where she would not have to be left alone alot, as she really seems to like being with her people all the time.
Annie is housebroken, up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. This sweet, shy girl has so many more years to give. She truly deserves a wonderful family like yours, who will help her continue to come out of her shell, and will not give her up again.
