Toby's Story...
Hi, my name is Toby. I’m a three year old, fawn colored Boxer. Right now I live with two other dogs and while I enjoy their company, I really wish I had a family all of my own. All I want is someone who has the time to love me and pay me lots of attention. My foster mom says I’m such a good boy! I don’t have accidents in the house and I get along with all the dogs I’ve met. I don’t much like cats though.

I’m medium sized, about 45 lbs. I’m already fixed, heartworm negative and I’m current on all my shots. My foster mom took me in when my previous owners didn’t want me any more. They hadn’t taken very good care of me and as a result I had gotten a fungal infection and lost some of my hair. The nice vet, looked me over really well and gave me a medicated shampoo for my hair. It’s starting to grow back and my foster mom says I’m becoming a real handsome boy!

Sometime I get excited when I’m meeting people and I jump up to say hi. My foster mom says I need to brush up on my manners a little – I say I’ve just never had anyone to teach me. If you have a place in your home and your heart and you can give me the attention I need, please call Jennifer Windham at 318-617-6372 or email her at jennred25@bellsouth.net and she can send you more pictures.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Toby, a Haughton Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
