Ellie- Hound's Story...
7-26-09 Ellie looks to be a pure bred hound, but I am not sure which breed. She is very tall, and should probably weigh about 70 pounds when we get her to her healthy weight. Whether she is Treeing, American, or English Hound Ellie is an exceptional dog. She has a wonderfully gentle personality, she is the dog we leave with our small dogs and puppies. Ellie is an immediate volunteer favorite, we love to hear her "sing" her greeting as we come to and from the shelter! In the last picture you can see where she loaded herself up to go home! Do you have the right home for a gorgeous hound dog? Come to Charleston and meet Ellie and all of her friends! Please save lives by adopting from shelters and rescues and by spaying and neutering your own pets!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie- Hound, a Charleston Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Charleston, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Charleston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Charleston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Charleston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Charleston paves the way for another one to be saved.
