My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Xena is an exceptional, spayed female, black and tan, German Shepherd. Xena is up to date on vaccinations, flea and tick prevention. Xena was found as a stray and her finders needed the shelter to pick her up because they could not keep her any longer. Xena was also showing signs of aggression towards men however since being in Rescue we have not seen any aggression towards any people. She would do better with older more mature children. She took some time to warm up to the other dogs and was a bit growly at first, however since she has settled down she does enjoy playing with her foster sisters. We estimate her age to be at a year or a year and a half, she does show signs of puppy/mouthy behavior to indicate that she is young and her teeth are sparkling white.

Xena is heartworm positive but is not showing any clinical signs. We are currently treating her monthly with Ivermectin and Doxycycline until she is negative. Her new family will need to keep her on Ivermectin which is a heartworm preventative, and we will provide all medications when she goes home.

Xena will do well with an experienced German Shepherd owner. She just started her obedience lessons and is learning her new commands quickly. If you are interested in providing a loving, secure, and permanent home for Xena or require additional information Please Email:luvgermansheps@yahoo.com
