My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm a real lucky boy to be alive today. I was saved from a shelter where they were going to put me to sleep just because I was there too long -- sadly, when the shelter got crowded, my time ran out in less than two weeks. That's when some really nice two-legged friends of mine whisked me out from behind bars and let me live with them as their foster dog. I get to live here with three other dogs and even some kitties and we all get along great, but now I'm in search of a lifelong home where I will be a much-loved member of the family. Simply put, to know me is to love me! I am a playful, goofy guy weighing in at about 45 pounds. I'm around 8 months old and full of youthful energy. True to my breed, I am one smart German Shepherd. My foster parents are so proud of how smart I am and how quickly I've been taking to my obedience lessons. A combination of naturally being a pooch who's eager to please along with being rewarded with tasty treats and plenty of praise makes training a snap with me. I love to play with other dogs and romp with them at dog beach -- so don't let the fact that I only have three legs fool you, because I can run like the wind! My special talents are giving generous wet kisses to everyone I meet and snuggling up next to you for a nap on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I've been to the vet and have a perfectly clean bill of health. Now if I could just find that special someone who will make me their best friend for life, I'd have not a single want in the world! I will thrive in an active home where I'm an indoor member of the family and will get to accompany you on all sorts of outings. Oh, and did I mention that I love to stick my head out of the passenger seat window on car rides? Being the social butterfly that I am, I would like to get plenty of on-going socialization with other animals and people, and go to more training classes with my new pet parent so that my manners are established while I'm still young.

If you're thinking that you and I would make a great match, please contact my foster parents via e-mail or by phone at (619) 405-7942 today for more information on adopting me!
