My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Henna is a gorgeous, special girl, that needs a special family. She must have a dog companion because she loves other dogs and this helps her to trust. She is very shy but in a unique way. The first day she was in foster care, she jumped over the fence ( can climb), took off and after they called for her a while they looked and she was at their back porch wanting the chicken they had to lure her. She wants to be cared for but is super shy. At first she put her head down when petting her but she is now beginning to relax and enjoy it. There is no aggression in this precious girl, just way too humble and uncertain. She has shown continual improvement and loves to be with another dog with people. She is learning to come inside and crate train for periods of time. Henna has to go through heartworm treatment so she will continue to get a lot of love, great care and socialization. We know her person or family is out there. She only has submission and love to give and if you have ever owned or loved a shy dog the rewards in your heart are huge. if this is you we would love to share more.

This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms but is being treated. The adoption fee is $400 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 10am-Noon. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
