Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Leo is Adopted
Leo is currently fostered in North Canton Ohio, and hos adoption fee/donation is $250
Leo is a beautiful 7 yr old male cocker spaniel.
He came to our rescue as an owner surrender due to his former owner being unable to care for him.
When he first arrived, he was in pretty bad shape. He had skin, eye and ear infections.
The ears were the most severe, they were so bad and painful, that he had to be sedated before we could groom his head or anywhere near his ears.
Forward ahead about 6 weeks since intake, and he is doing so much better!!
His infections have cleared, he is all groomed up, and he is feeling so much better!!
Leo is still fearful of having his ears messed with, we arent sure if he just remembers the pain, and is just overprotective because of this, we cant say for sure.
He can get growly/nippy when it comes to touching his ears with people he doesnt know and trust.
His adopter will need to understand this issue, and be able/willing to work with him.
Once he gets comforatble with new people in his life, he does bond and is so loving and affectionate!!
He also has seperation anxiety and can not go to a home where he is alone all day, this will definitely NOT WORK FOR LEO.
He will howl and cry non stop if alone, this is an area that can be worked on as well, but again, adopter would need to understand this need.
For the most part, he is a wonderful dog!! When he bonds to a person, he gets very attached!!
He will sit next to his person and get belly rubs, play fetch with a ball, lay and enjoy being petted, and just enjoy the snuggle time with his human.
A retired person or couple that are homebodies will be the best fit for Leo.
He is great with other animals, and is housetrained, he is just waiting for his forever home.
Leo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.
