Henrietta's Story...
"Henrietta," a beautiful medium-haired calico, was born to a feral cat on 6/20/09, but was socialized by people at a young age. She is a calm and reserved kitten, but purrs and warms up after a few seconds of petting. She gets along well with the kittens she lives with and has had a few encounters with adult cats and dogs. She would probably do best in a relatively calm household. "Henrietta" is already dewormed, tested for feline leukemia and has received 2 of her FVRCP kitten vaccines. She will be spayed and microchipped on Friday, 8/28, and will be ready for adoption shortly thereafter. Please feel free to contact her foster mom, Beth, directly at bakissack@ucdavis.edu for more information or to be sent our quick adoption questionnaire before meeting this sweet little girl!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henrietta, a Davis Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Davis, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
