Barney's Story...

This 1 year old (2009) gray & white marble swirl male is quite the gentleman & of good nature. At an early age, he and his brother bolted from a colony of feral kittens that lived in the woods. Both Barney and Clyde were sedate and mellow boys when they arrived at the Goathouse, but they had spent their young lives in the wild, and when they were released into the general population, they went out onto the grounds and became somewhat remote. Recently, Barney and Clyde have been spending time inside the Refuge, where we are becoming reacquainted with them. Barney is a handsome grey and white boy with an inquisitive and friendly look. He likes high places, and if you visit the Goathouse, don't be surprised to see him looking down at you!

He and his brother go great together like 'Barney and Clyde'!

About The Goathouse Refuge

About Our Shelter...

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses 150-200 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.

Come Meet Our Pets...

People can visit the Goathouse 7 days a week, from 12-3, or by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

adoption application, home visit, adoption fee $100
