Bronco's Story...
Bronco is so happy, relaxed and easy going it is hard to imagine how anyone could let this guy go. Maybe they wanted a dog that was rough, tough and scary in which case they must have been sorely disappointed. Bronco certainly has a macho look with his big head and muscle-bound body but that’s the end of it, personality wise he is all peace and love. Bronco loves people, he loves tennis balls, he loves to play and when he’s tired he loves to go and lie quietly on his bed. There is a calmness about Bronco that few dogs achieve. He doesn’t jump but goes about everything in a quiet measured way, enjoying petting and going off quietly to lie down when he’s done. If Bronco has a down-side he’s not telling and we haven’t found it.
Please call the shelter 516-944-8220 during working hours (Mon. to Fri. 9AM-4PM; Sat. 10-4PM) for more information about Bronco, the adoption process at the shelter, and to confirm availability. Please go to www.theshelterconnection.com for more information about and directions to the shelter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bronco, a Port Washington American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Port Washington, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Port Washington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Washington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Washington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Washington paves the way for another one to be saved.
