Trolley is a sweet and mellow older guy. He is a senior that is young at heart, he still needs a walk each day but won’t fuss if you miss a day. He is fully trained. He is a great choice for someone looking for a mature dog that is passed the puppy stages and is easy to care for. He requires very little to keep him happy, he just wants someone to love, someone to feed him and someone to walk or play fetch with. What more could you ask for in a canine companion?! Trolley is well behaved and a real people dog, he loves to greet new people at the door and is all tail wags. Trolley is a wire haired JRT and he does shed but needs minimal grooming. He knows some basic commands, he doesn't get on furniture or the bed unless you ask him. He is fully house trained has never used a crate and is happiest given free roam of the home when alone. He isn't yappy at all, he will only bark to let you know someone is at the door, he will also come and ask to go out to "potty". Trolley loves cats and has always lived with a cat, he is good with other smaller dogs – he is leery of large dogs, he will ignore other dogs on walks or shy away from large dogs, he enjoys playing with smaller dogs. Trolley is NOT good with children of any age, he has never been raised with kids so he is not used to having little people in his home. Trolley completely ignores kids on walks, he should not go to a home with children or where children are visiting frequently. If you have the occasional young visitor Trolley is happy to take a nap in a bedroom some where out of the way for the duration of a visit. Trolley enjoys a daily walk and is happy to take a shorter walk in yucky weather. He loves to play fetch with his toy and if it's too cold or wet out for a walk he likes a good game of tossing his toy up and down a carpeted hallway or set of steps. Trolley is by no means hyper, in fact he is happy to stay in bed with you all day if you want! Trolley sleeps on his own bed beside or under his owners bed. Trolley is in perfect health and although he is a senior you'd never know it, he looks, acts and feels like a younger dog the bonus is you don't have to deal with all that young dog energy, being a JRT he will likely always be able to "keep up". Trolley is a pretty low maintenance dog, he just wants to be with his people, be loved, take a walk each day and nap. He sometimes goes to work with his foster mom so this little guy can go with you just about any where. Trolley would be a good second dog if you already have a small dog, he would be a great companion if you have a cat in the home too. This well behaved mature boy would be perfect for a retired person who still gets out daily and needs a slower but steady companion. Being a healthy dog Trolley likely has many years to live, JRT's can live 15yrs or more! If you have a child free home and are looking for a loving, well mannered, quiet companion then Trolley is your man!
