My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

With her Beagle face, Basset legs and Dachshund body, Lucy illicits big grins (if not outright giggles) from most people when they first meet her. Lucy’s near-comical proportions and unmistakable cuteness are always attention-getters. This young lady is a crowd-pleaser without fail!

One of the first things we learned about Miss Lucy-Goosy is that she LOVES KIDS. She would have a blast in a home where there are children to play with - the more rambunctious, the better. Lucy loves adults just as much. Believe it or not (even with those stubby little legs), Lucy would make a great jogging/walking partner for someone. We think she could definitely go the distance.

According to our vet, Lucy was most likely born in August of 2008. Even though she is full-grown at just 23 lbs., Lucy has a lot of puppy playfulness still in her. She has a happy, semi-goofy demeanor and plenty of “get up and go”. Lucy is in excellent health. She is spayed, current on shots, micro-chipped, heartworm-negative and is on monthly heartworm prevention. Our $175 adoption fee helps offset the cost of Lucy’s vet visit.

Lucy shares her foster home with other dogs and seems to especially like males. Lucy fancies herself as a bit of a “Queen Bee”, thank you very much. Although Lucy has not been around cats in her foster home, we think she’d likely be a bit much for a household with felines.

If you prefer your pooches to be low to the ground and welcome a sweet girl who is enthusiastic about each new day and who has lots of love to give, you owe it to yourself to meet Lucy. Applicants for Lucy must have a verifiable history with a vet. If you would like to give Lucy a loving, forever home, we invite you to submit an adoption application today:
