Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ADOPTED!!
John - male, vet checked, neutered, vaccinated to date inclu. Rabies, heartworm tested (-), dewormed, tx flea preventative, ~3yr, ~20lbs, Beagle.
John found himself at a high kill shelter where he had a hard time finding a home and was going to be euthanized, he is now safely in rescue waiting for a forever home.
John is a sweet and small Beagle; he is good with other dogs, cats and likely fine with respectful children of any age. John is house trained and crate trained but would likely be fine given free roam of the home once he has settled in. John would be a great little buddy for an active family who enjoys the outdoors with their companion. Beagles make good couch potatoes and cuddle pals in the house especially after a good walk or jog. They are good hiking partners or lounging in the backyard along side the family. Beagles are very group/pack oriented and John is no acceptation, though he does not display anxiety when alone he loves to be with people and would be a great second dog or on his own. Being a Beagle John does like to follow his nose, he can’t help himself! He needs to be leashed on walks and should only be allowed to run free when in a fully fenced area. Even though he is small we have found that most Beagles are not suitable for apartment living, John needs a house with a FENCED backyard. If you are not familiar with the Beagle breed please research before applying - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/beagle.htm
